Take a (45 Year) Trip Down Memory Lane!
You remember the Beatles, right? Carole King, Roy Orbison, Paul Simon, Cole Porter, James Taylor? Celebrating the Susquehanna Valley Chorale’s 45th Anniversary, our 2016 Pops Concert brings you the very best music from that memorable, groundbreaking timeframe. The eclectic programming mix includes songs from several distinctive genres—Broadway, soul, ballad, jazz, pop (of course!) and more.

Music Director William Payn and accompanist Coleen Renshaw painstakingly reviewed the music from all previous SVC Pops concerts and chose the most popular titles for this year’s performance. In many cases, the songs are fresh, exciting new arrangements.
More than 70 singers will take the stage for today’s program, and like virtually all of SVC’s Spring Pops concerts, the event showcases the talents of our own select group of soloists and ensembles, including male and female quartets. Also featured is the seven-piece SVC Stage Band. And watch for those costume changes that have become an SVC tradition. There are nine—yes nine—of ‘em…that alone is worth the price of admission! This Pops concert closes our 2015-2016 season, and it’s been a hugely successful and rewarding year.
After the concert, join us for a reception to enjoy a meet and greet with Conductor Bill Payn, The Chorale and Stage Band.
